Bettering the Community Service Initiative: Reach Out Honduras

News

Giving back to the communities we live in is a core value at OSC. As part of the Bettering the Community Service Initiative, employees of Steamboat Group can use 10 hours of community service time per year to support 501c3 causes close to their hearts.

Tiffany Hall, Lender Solutions Representative at OSC, recently volunteered at a gala for Reach Out Honduras, a nonprofit organization who raises money for kids in Honduras. The funds support education, meals, school supplies, and clothing for the kids in need.

“My husband and I currently sponsor two children through this program,” said Tiffany.

The Reach Out Honduras gala included a silent auction, raffle, and a presentation that provided information about the organization and the kids who benefit.

This isn’t the first time Tiffany and her husband have given their time supporting this worthy cause.

“For the past several years I have volunteered for many of their fundraising events,” Tiffany added. “This includes golf tournaments and galas. I enjoy this type of work as it gives me a sense of joy.”

She sees the direct impact Reach Out Honduras is having on the communities the nonprofit serves.

“Being able to communicate with our kids in Honduras and see where they are and how school is going – it’s astonishing how just the little we provide does wonders for their education and home life. My husband and his family have been to the school in Honduras and have been able to work firsthand with them. I am very excited to one day go and experience the joy these kids have.”

Tiffany is thrilled to continue serving these kids and Reach Out Honduras in the future.

“I’m very blessed to be a part of this organization for the past 6 years. This is a once-in -a-lifetime experience and I get to be a part of it every year.”
